April 24’ Fishing Report:

Miracle Mile

Current Flows 2200 CFS

With the flows at the Mile, it is a great time to swing flies.  Articulated streamers swung through the runs can produce some amazing fish.  This technique will not produce as many fish as nymphing, but the reward is great!  Swing an articulated thin Lizzy, or the Rusty Trombone.  Cast straight out and let it swing all the way to the dangle.  Strip it a few times on the hang down.  Then, take two steps down and repeat.  It’s basically like putting a piece of graph paper over a good run!  Eventually that fly will swing right in front of that big fish you’re after.  If you need more tips on swinging flies, swing by the shop!

THE FISH ARE IN FULL SPAWN SO PLEASE WATCH WHERE YOU WADE AND ALSO WHERE YOU FISH.  LET THEM BONE IN PEACE!
