Freemont Canyon is currently flowing at approximately 75 CFS and should remain there for the winter. The water is clear and there are BIG fish on the feed. The tops nymphs include small pine squirrel leeches, olive scuds and your favorite midge pattern size 18 – 20. Steamer fishing has been productive down in the canyon casting to the structure. Strip your white and olive streamers a little slower than normal this time of year. Still seeing a few fish up on dries, but you’ve got to go pretty small on the bugs. A small parachute Adams with a midge dropper size 20 could be your ticket to success. Please let us know how else we can help you with your fishing questions. Our fall/winter hours are 9am – 4pm and we can be reached at 307-277-6282.
