The river is in great shape! We’re seeing solid bug activity throughout the day, with midges and blue-winged olives doing most of the heavy lifting. On warmer afternoons, Caddis are present in the trees. This can be super fun if the fish start crashing them in the riffles. Try an elk hair caddis with a mayhem midge dropped off. These dry fly windows are popping mid-day into late afternoon when our Wyoming weather cooperates. Bring your patience and your A-game. Nymphing is still getting it done with hot head sow bugs in pink and dark grey, mayhem midges, and slim shady beatis. For you streamer folks you’re getting a little love too! It’s not lights out, but if you cover water and hit the right seams, you’ll find a few players willing to chase those 2 hook Johnny’s and goldies!
