The Miracle Mile continues to fish well and is settling into a great summer pattern. Nymphing remains the most consistent producer, with fish feeding heavily on golden stone nymphs, caddis, worms, scuds, and annelids. If the bite slows down, don’t forget to mix in a small midge – it’s often the difference maker on selective fish. Current flows are right around 1000 CFS, providing excellent conditions for both wade and float anglers.
Dry fly fishing continues to improve as PMD’s and caddis become more active throughout the day. Look for rising fish during the warmer hours and into the evening, especially along grassy banks, seams, and softer water. Having a few PMDs, elk hair caddis, and small attractor dries in your box will keep you ready when fish begin looking up.
Streamer anglers are still finding success by targeting deeper buckets, structure, and slower water. Smaller baitfish and crawfish patterns continue to move quality fish, particularly during the early morning hours or on cloudy afternoons.
