The Reef
The fishing at Grey Reef has been really good! Its flowing at 2300 CFS and pumping out some great fish. We are seeing yellow sally and caddis hatches! Below the bridge its all about the “Turd and a worm”. The fish are keying in on those larger bugs now which is always fun. The Turd is a nickname for a pats rubber legs. Pats tan/brown in size 6, also the Zurtle in Tan and Rust size 6. The beaded squirmy worm in Red or Purple has been the hot worm. Above the bridge the fish are more buggy right now. Our favorites lately have been the B.H. Macgrueber PMD size 18, the Chocolate Thunder size 18, the Mayhem midge size 18 in both the PMD and purple colors. We are also fishing a lot of Caddis on the upper and lower. Bead headed birds nests size 16 or the Rocky Mtn. Caddis in Cream and Rust size 18. Also the Streamer bite has been solid. Top Streamers are JawBreakers in Olive and Rust. Articulated Vanilla buggers and Hot Head Thin Mints.
