Grey Reef continues to fish exceptionally well, with guides and anglers finding success throughout the entire river. Fish are feeding heavily and holding in the faster water. Productive nymph rigs include a Pat’s Rubber Legs paired with a small midge or mayfly nymph. The Rock Worm continues to produce, especially in purple and red.

The dry fly bite is starting to build momentum. From mid-morning through early afternoon, keep an eye out for rising fish and be ready to capitalize on any surface activity. Grassy banks with moving water have been particularly productive. If you’re looking to cover all your bases, a hopper-dropper setup is tough to beat.

Streamer anglers are also finding success, with some quality fish coming to hand for those willing to cover water. Our go-to patterns have been the Mini Rainbow, Two-Hook Johnny, and Mini Thin Lizzy.

Flows are holding steady around 1,000 CFS, and the river is in excellent shape. The fish are healthy, aggressive, and eager to eat. If you’ve been thinking about a trip to the Reef, now is a fantastic time to get on the water.
